Who Redi Shade is
Redi Shade started in northern California in 1991 and later moved its main office to Tennessee. Founder Ron Militello says the first product was a no-tools paper shade you trim, peel and stick in place. The range now covers paper, fabric, pleated and cellular shades in light filtering, darkening and blackout versions.
What we list
The Original Paper Blackout Shade is on our blackout curtains page. Paper blackout shades are a cheap stopgap: they stick to the top of the frame, trim to width, and can go up in minutes in a rental or a nursery.
Trade-offs
Paper shades are a cheap, short-term product, and a torn one needs replacing. Like any shade, they leave some glow at the edges. They work best as a temporary fix or as a layer under curtains. For the sleep case for a darker room, and how to deal with light leaking around the edges, see do blackout curtains help you sleep.
Shipping
Redi Shade offers free shipping on orders over $75 from its own site. The homepage links to an FAQ and terms page for returns rather than stating a window.
