Who SpectrumView is
SpectrumView builds LCD monitors by hand in Mexico, swapping the usual LED backlight for incandescent bulbs or, on the Starlore model, sunlight. It sells through solarbacklight.com for bitcoin, and Shwally acts as its US partner for card payments. The site does not name the company behind it or its founders.
The range runs from the 15-inch Mini (four 25 W bulbs) to the Master, a three-screen 27-inch setup weighing 24 kg. The SpectrumView Pro 27 is on our low blue light screens page.
Claims to check
SpectrumView says the monitors give off broadband infrared light and lists health benefits such as easing photosensitivity, reducing eye inflammation and improving memory. It shows spectrum graphs but no numbers and no studies, and its own site says to use the monitors “at your own risk, for experimental purposes only”. Incandescent light is warmer than a white LED but still contains blue light, so evening brightness still matters.
Warranty and delivery
SpectrumView promises proper functioning of physical parts for 3 years. Each monitor is handmade, with about a 5-week wait before shipping. Shwally does not accept its discount codes on SpectrumView screens.
