Who Slip is
Slip was founded by Fiona Stewart and Justin Dubois and dates itself to 2004. It describes itself as Australian, family-owned and based in Brisbane. Its main product is the Slip pure silk pillowcase, and the range also includes sleep masks, scrunchies and other silk accessories.
Material claims
Slip says its silk is “the highest grade (6A) long fibre pure mulberry silk,” commissioned to its own standards. Grade describes fiber quality. The about page does not state a momme weight, which describes fabric weight and thickness, so do not compare it on that number.
What matters for sleep
A silk mask is a flat mask: light, soft and good for people who dislike pressure on the face. Flat masks often leak light around the nose, though, and silk is not more effective at blocking light than other opaque fabrics.
