Good
- Blocked the most light of the curtains Reviewed.com tested with floodlights and a light meter
- Back coating means blackout does not depend on fabric colour
- Two hook-and-loop tie-backs included
Not so good
- Only one width (52 in) and three lengths, so wide windows need extra panels
- Amazon lists just beige and white, and the coating gives white a greyish cast
- Reviewed.com notes it lacks a luxurious look or feel
This is the only curtain on the list with an independent result at the top of a light test. Reviewed.com hung curtains in a doorway, lit them from one side with floodlights and read what came through with a light meter. This set “outperformed every other product” it tried. Reviewed did not publish the lux readings, and the page was last updated in June 2024, so treat it as a ranking rather than a number to compare with your room.
The name says “room darkening”, but the construction is blackout. Amazon describes a triple-weave polyester with a thick blackout coating on the back. Because the coating does the work, the colour of the face fabric does not change how much light gets through.
Its limits are size and looks. Every panel is 52 in wide, and lengths stop at 63, 84 and 96 in. For a window wider than about 50 in you will want a second pair to get enough overlap in the middle and past the frame. Amazon lists only beige and white, the coating gives white a greyish cast, and Reviewed found the fabric plain.
We could not confirm a current US price from a page we could open, so none is shown. It sells as a two-panel set.
Choose the Sun Zero Oslo instead if you need lengths up to 120 in or more colours, or the NICETOWN lined set for more widths.
